WHITE STUFF in the MOUNTAINS?

Dear Marianne & Bob,
Last night Nancy told me you aren’t coming home until Sunday. (Yes, I call her Nancy now. I decided she isn’t so bad. She lets me sit on her lap in the evening and she knows just how to scratch around my neck the way like I like it.) The tall guy is all right too.  He no longer pesters me to play with him. He understands now; I am in charge.

Today they will go to Coeur de Alene to meet with the next house sit people and their four dogs, four rabbits and four ducks.  Boy! Are they ever going to see how easy it was to just be here with me!

I miss you and my sister dogs.  Please come home safely. Nancy says they are expecting white stuff in the mountains before the weekend.  Hmmmmm….. I just wonder who "they" are, and what is this "white stuff" she is talking about?

Dear Marianne & Bob,

The things these two old folks get excited about! Yesterday a small buck came into the back yard. You would have thought it was a unicorn the way they carried on!  Plus, I heard them talking this morning about a "flock of wild turkeys" that amazed them yesterday while on their walk. Turkeys? They don’t get that excited when I rub up against their legs!  There is something wrong going on here.  I think I need you to come home and give me the full respect I deserve. These two old people seem to think "wild" is the only impressive thing. Hmmmmmm …. Maybe I’ll just have to show them what "wild" really looks like.

HUMORING THE OLD LADY

Dear Marianne & Bob,

Well, I broke down last night and humored the old lady. Yes, I snuggled on her lap for quite a while -  I think for about 33 minutes (yes, I was counting)  But, then she had to go and start petting me too and I said "enough, is enough" and jumped down. I can’t let her get too used to my affection. I am, after all, a CAT and not one to openly display my affections.

Your  distantly loving kitty,

Zeeba

MAKE THEM STOP !

Dear Marianne & Bob
Where did you find these two yahoos? They are a nuisance!  The tall, skinny guy always wants to play; the chubby lady just wants to cuddle me.  Don’t they know that I am a very private cat and all I want to do is be left alone on my refrigerator perch downstairs and only come up to use my door?  I’m sure glad they are going to see their kids in Spokane today. Maybe I can get some peace and quiet.

I am your very covert kitty,
Zeeba

I BEGIN MY CARETAKERS TRAINING

I heard them come in this morning. They weren't light on their feet. The woman came looking for me, right away. Said her name is Nancy. Tried to sugar-talk me off my warm perch in the laundry, but I was having nothing to do with her. Nope.  I'm just going to sit here all day and let her stew about how she can become my friend. I've got teach her it's going to take a lot more than just sweet talk to get me to come down. Hmmmm. Maybe she'll try treats next?  Purrrrrrrrr.

I miss you already.

Aloof love, (the only kind a cat can have)

Zeeba.
